How to improve ink adhesion on glass

Glass has a very low surface energy - good ink adhesion is difficult! You can improve the adhesion level by a pre-treatment with a silan compound in the flame. Silan (e.g. Pyrosil® or Arcosil®), deposited by flame, forms a thin silicate layer onto the surface. The silicate layer has a high surface tension and improves ink adhesion (especially UV inks).

Tutorial of Digital Plastisol Textile Transfer Printing

Texa® Jet DX-DTE is the digital ink solution for a combination with traditional textile transfer. It delivers photo-realistic results at a high quality resistance and a stunning soft touch. This inks are the ideal partner to explore an economic way, that enables new opportunities with the combination of established Plastisol and PU based transfer inks.

MaraJet DI-TV: Alternative ink for Roland® TrueVIS printers

The Mara® Jet DI-TV ink series is the dedicated solution to get the best prints for all graphic and signage applications from your TrueVIS printer.

Benefits like the brilliant and durable prints come across with a very good machine compatibility and maintenance friendlyness.

Black to transparent - This is how a thermochromic effect looks like

One of the more eye-popping special effects, thermochromic pigments achieve their impact by changing colour under the influence of temperature. As soon as a predefined temperature limit has been reached, the colour of the printed ink film turns transparent; or vice versa, when the initial temperature returns, the print resumes its original colour (reversible) .

The future of aircraft printing is digital

Dutch robot manufacturer XYREC has successfully demonstrated a breakthrough in aircraft painting technology by printing a large digital image on an Airbus A320 fuselage. This new and unique solution for decorating aircraft uses inkjet technology for digital printing and ink instead of paint.

XYREC developed this technology in cooperation with Southwest Research Institute, Airbus and Marabu.

Screen Printing on Glass

Marabu specializes in organic inks for glass - a highly effective and energy-efficient alternative to ceramic enamels. Our ink systems score highly on adhesion and come in a variety of colours and special effects – plus they are scratch-resistant, dishwasher-safe and free of heavy metals.

Alternative Ink for Oce Arizona and Fujifilm Acuity Printers

The UV-curable UltraJet DUV-GR is suited for Océ Arizona and Fujifilm Acuity printers that run on:

  • Océ (Canon): IJC-255 / IJC-256/ IJC-257/ IJC-258/IJC262/IJC261
  • Fujifilm Acuity: UviJet KO / UviJet KI/ UviJet KN/ UviJet KA/ UviJetWI/Uvijet WH

The wide substrate range of the DUV-GR includes rigid and flexible uncoated materials.

The new "King of Ink" - Printing on glass and metal with one-component ink

One of the highlights unveiled by printing ink manufacturer Marabu is Mara® Tech MGO baking ink for screen and pad printing on glass and metal.

MGO is ideal for screen and pad printing alike, and helps minimise storage costs as the customer only requires a single ink system for both methods.

First low-migration UV screen printing ink for PE/PP

The manufacturing of sensitive products such as foodstuffs or cosmetic packaging requires utmost awareness. In order to satisfactorily meet the requirements of such a demanding process, UltraPack UVFP, by virtue of its low migration formulation, minimizes the risk of subsequent transfer from the outer decoration through the substrate, and into the contents.

Switch-it! The alternative to OEM inkjet inks

"Switch It!" by Marabu offers a real alternative to OEM printing ink. Simply replace the original ink of your printer with one of Marabu‘s digital printing inks and benefit from many advantages.

Hot Stamping and Screen Printing for Glass Decoration

Marabu has developed UV-curable primers which simulate the gloss of precious metals. This combination of screen printing and hot stamping results in high gloss metallic effects which are absolutely comparable to precious metals, at a much lower price.

Direct printing on plastic packaging

First impressions can make all the difference when it comes to product packaging. Direct printing guarantees a high-quality image and strengthens the distinctive character of each product.

Pad printing inks

Enhanced and fine-tuned over decades, pad printing has become a firm fixture in the printing landscape. And it’s not surprising: this technique offers unique solutions for some of the toughest surfaces. Suitable for a wide range of applications and substrates, this versatile process ensures first-rate results for decoration, marking, and identification.

Screen printing inks

Marabu has long played a key role in shaping screen printing technology. Our innovative ideas and products combined with our in-depth knowledge of printing processes have been instrumental in driving this technology forward. All over the world, Marabu is synonymous with high-quality inks, manufactured to the highest standards.

Pad printing on shot glasses

Pad printing is typically used in scenarios where other print methods struggle to deliver the desired results: precise, delicate details on raised or sunken surfaces. In this video we want to show you one of its various possibilities. This time on shot glasses with a little nice beach scenario ;-)

TUTORIAL: How to do a correct ink mixing

Marabu would like to give you a simple but very important hint: No matter which components you have to mix in your ink, make sure that you stir them well and long enough, at least for 2-3 min. The video shows what happens if you don’t mix UV screen printing inks for glass and the necessary adhesion modifier long enough. Left side is stirred too short and right side is stirred correct. The cross-hatch tape test of left side shows bad adhesion of ink, no abbression resistance, no chemical resistance and bad ink leveling. With the right side everything is fine and this only because the ink mixture was stirred correct.
